The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology specializes in the women’s reproductive health, covering both normal physiology and disease. Obstetrics focuses on pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, while gynecology addresses conditions of the female reproductive system. Gynecology is further divided into general gynecology for benign conditions (including sexually transmitted infections), gynecologic oncology for malignant tumors, reproductive endocrinology for infertility, menopause, and hormonal disorders, and urogynecology for urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse.
