The Department of Laboratory Medicine conducts a wide range of diagnostic tests on specimens obtained from the human body to support accurate disease diagnosis and assess treatment effectiveness. The range of tests offered is extensive, including the analysis of various blood components as well as urine, cerebrospinal fluid, and other body fluids. The department also diagnoses infectious diseases by isolating and identifying various microorganisms—such as bacteria, viruses, and fungi—and conducts examinations to characterize cancer cells after isolation.
The Blood Bank supplies blood to all areas of the hospital where transfusion is required and performs related testing, blood donation and component donation, plasma exchange, and therapeutic apheresis. In addition, the department offers various genetic testing, providing up-to-date genetic information related to disease, along with genetic counseling to support patients.
By integrating the latest medical knowledge and technology into laboratory diagnostics, the Department of Laboratory Medicine empowers the clinical team to deliver the optimal patient care.
